Debra Parrish, J.D.
Debra Parrish, J.D., is an attorney who has worked with academic medical centers, research institutions, high technology and start-up companies, particularly those in the life sciences area. Her areas of specialization are science law (including scientific misconduct and research regulations, compliance and investigations), health care law, and intellectual property (including patent prosecution and litigation).
From 1992 to 1994, Ms. Parrish worked at the Office of Research Integrity as an attorney where she prosecuted scientists accused of research misconduct and worked on related policies. She is a frequent speaker at national and regional meetings, and individual university and research institutions. She has numerous publications in scientific and legal journals and presentations on issues such as intellectual property and research integrity. She received her JD and BSE in biomedical engineering from Duke University and is a member of the patent bar.
